LETTER FROM THE EDITOR:

F or Sweet Honey in the Rock, music is more than entertainment. It is a link to history, speaking less of moments, victories, and achievements, and more of the emotions, pains, joys, and motivations that linger through history, connecting people of different times who do not know each others' names.

The contemporary artworld has somehow come to believe that much good is done by stroking the egos of the elite while alternately confounding and offending the sensibilities of the bourgeois.

In Zion National Park's 229 square miles there is much to behold, and not just on a massive, geologic scale. There are 800 species of plants, 75 species of mammals, and 271 species of birds in the park.

Plus, beans and beer. What a combination!
